Many people still support Donald Trump for President. I'm not in that camp but still, I'm trying to understand why millions of Americans have unwavering support for the man. Is it due to his love of the military? His Christian values? His stance on abortion? The fact that he's an excellent businessman? The intent of this article is to show why he still has so much support among those that want to make America great again. (Satire)

Perhaps it's because he claims he's the most intelligent person in the room. If you don't believe it, ask him, he's not shy. There are so many of his followers who appear to like the fact that he's very, very smart. It gives them warmth and security that their leader knows so much. One point about this claim: Recently, during an issue with the Trump campaign and National Arlington Cemetery security, the Trump campaign took pics and videos in an area that doesn't allow photography. The campaign was warned of no photography beforehand. So, Trump was asked whether it was ok, and he said, "Well, I don't know what the rules and regulations are, I don't know who did it, and, I, it could have been them. It could have been the parents. It could have been somebody…." Will this man ever take responsibility for his false claims and lies over the last ten years? Between these two scenarios, he's either lying or isn't the smartest guy in the room. Perhaps both things are true?
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because of his backing from a former President and Vice President? Is it because of the backing he has of individuals who were part of his Presidential cabinet? Wait, neither Bush nor Cheney have publicly come out to support him, and if they back Trump, why weren't they at the RNC? Melania almost didn't show up; that must have cost Donald a lot of money. Was he a demanding boss? He had three secretaries of homeland security and three chiefs of staff, and all other prominent cabinet positions had at least one replacement. How many of these individuals are now campaigning for him? Actually, of his 44 former cabinet members, only four still support him (and his former VP isn't included in the four). We all know what that says about his executive style and unhinged behavior.
Why do folks like Trump?
Do they like him because of the music played at his campaign rallies? Does it help them get into the spirit of listening to Donald? Except, what happens when Trump's campaign plays certain songs without the approval from the musician? Like Abba (Money, Money, Money), Rolling Stones (You Can't Always Get What You Want), Neil Young (Rockin' In The Free World), REM (It's the End of the World as We Know It), Queen (We Are The Champions), and Prince (Purple Rain). I could go on, but you get the point. This has been going on for years without any fine or penalty, and this situation continues. What does that say about his character and his campaign staff? If a person with questionable character is allowed to get away with anti-social and illegal activities, is there anything that will deter them from continuing? Won't that type of behavior continue?

At least he believes in recycling; isn't that a good thing to address climate change? Isn't that something all Americans, right and left, can get behind? He sometimes appears bored during campaigning, so he'll rant about something to change it up. So, he often recycles his rants. Isn't that a good thing? At least he's recycling something. Well, isn't running for president supposed to be hard, tiring, trying, and arduous? It's a long-drawn-out job interview, so the utmost energy and preparation are needed in a campaign. But wait, he gets bored? Really? Does he really want the job? Is it to stay out of federal prison? How much of his economic plans does he genuinely believe in, or is he just being a carnival barker in an expensive suit? But let's not forget, at least he's recycling something.
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because Trump handles the abortion issue? He says it's up to the states to decide how to handle the abortion issue, and when Florida instituted a ban on abortion after six weeks, Trump was not sure if he was ready to support it. Wait, you want to leave it up to the individual states and then your resident State of Florida institutes quite a strict abortion ban, and you're not sure if you're ready to support it? You're the one that wanted the states to decide, and now you need to accept and live with the results. This isn't a game Donald, you can't have it both ways.
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because he's a Christian and wants to fight for Christian rights? If you profess this faith and are in a position to effect change, wouldn't he want to help the poorer Americans who need help the most? Even though he has professed his Christian faith, he's been unable to cite one New Testament verse. Has any other President used a bible as a political prop, and at the same time, not realized that prop was not properly and honorably been displayed? Yet, being baptized Christian, over the years, he's insulted Muslims, Chinese, African-Americans, and Mexicans. Why so much hate? Merely due to skin color or a different language spoken?
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because of all the jobs he created during his four years? But wait, according to factcheck.org, the economy lost 2.7 million jobs, and the unemployment rate went from 1.7% to 6.4%. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, he became the first president in modern times to experience a net loss of jobs over his time in office. Yes, he had COVID-19, but what about the three years before COVID-19? Many Americans assume he was a great job's creator. Mark Twain said years ago, "It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they've been fooled."
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because he wanted to support his followers by ensuring more people got health insurance during his tenure? He doesn't like government insurance, so what did he do while in office to address it? He indeed had four years to ensure more Americans got health insurance. But wait, the number of people lacking health insurance rose by three million under Trump. So much for looking after his constituents!
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because Trump was tough on corporations and trying to look out for the average American? He has said to MAGA that he's looking after them. But wait, in his four years of being in office (2017-2020), corporate profits were at the highest point ever. If that's getting tough on corporations, then I wonder what it would look like if he took a weak stand against them. The tax bills of many large corporations ended up even smaller than predicted when the president signed the bill. Some of that income from high earners may end up being contributed to his Presidential campaign (But God only knows how that money will be spent). When wealthy people contribute a large sum of money to his campaign, it's an investment. And they'll eventually want some return on that investment.
Why do folks like Trump?
Is it because he loves the military so much, something he uses during his rallies to show his love and patriotism for this country. However, in 2015, he called John McCain a "loser" and later made a tweet about the issue, considering that John McCain didn't deserve any courage because he was captured? What about during a ceremony in 2018 at an American military cemetery for soldiers and Marines killed in WWI? His staff said he skipped that one because the event was cancelled, even though that didn't stop other world leaders from honoring their fallen. I won't even delve into the issue of his medical deferments to avoid going to Vietnam. Do folks like him because he did a photo op at Arlington National Cemetery even though his staff were told no campaigning was allowed there? I'll say one thing about this man: he has an incredible amount of chutzpah when he opens his mouth in public. He's just unbelievable.
The only time people stand by someone that is utterly insane is when they’re cult followers. Trump is a cult leader, his MO is to lie so much it leaves his people in a daze, they don’t know reality from Trumps fiction.
