The ABC Credit Card Company is looking for a Technical Writer to manage multiple writing projects related to process work, training materials, technical projects and compliance related documentation. Experience in financial services or a highly regulated environment is a plus. Company and vendor confidentiality is essential.  Ability to interview and have ongoing conversations with several Subject Matter Experts or Managers on several topics is required. Ability to manage writing projects and follow up when necessary is essential. Effective decision matter once all options are weighed. The capacity to communicate complex business and technology concepts clearly and effectively.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree required (English, Communications, or Technical degree) or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years of business writing and communication experience.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Self-starter/independent thinker.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, at multiple levels within the organizations.

Ability to multi-task.

Excellent attention to detail.

Fluent with MS Office and Visio programs.

Proven history as Technical Writer in IT.

Experience with updating, editing and publishing documentation.

Skills and Experience

Strong aptitude to accurately review complex and extensive materials including graphics, text, multi-media, web sites and charts.

Strong project management skills, create project plan and follow up and be persistent when necessary.

Ability to regularly prioritize project workload effectively.

Strong written communication skills and solid command of the English language.

Capable of making an effective decision once all possibilities are weighed.

Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with electronic routing systems and online annotations.

Flexible and adaptable.

Experience in financial industry or highly regulated environment.

Ability to put the interviews at ease and ask “open ended” questions to capture necessary information.

Capacity to convince and sell your approach and ideas to your clients.

Ability to interact with Database Administrators, Subject Matter Experts, Product and Program Managers.

Strong planning, scheduling, and researching skills. Must be able to complete projects on aggressive deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Skill to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

Ability to effectively research and evaluate both software and hardware-related technical concepts.

Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and business documents for a wide range of uses.

Aptitude to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.

Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people – from executives to entry-level employees.

Question SMEs and Program Managers on Process improvement aptitude and the ability to question certain processes.

Coordinate technical and stakeholder reviews to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of content.

Work with SMEs, product managers and project managers on requirements – including control points, process gaps and risks on key processes.

Ensure all procedure manuals, process narratives and flowcharts are accurate, consistent and meet appropriate industry and external compliance guidelines.
